I Thought I Was a Good Person — So Why Was My Life Falling Apart?

“Until you make the unconscious conscious,
it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”

~ Carl Jung

For a long time, I couldn’t understand why my life felt the way it did.

On the surface, I was a good person. I helped others. I showed up. I tried to do the right things.

But underneath, something didn’t feel right.

I felt stuck, like I was living a life that didn’t fully belong to me. I didn’t have boundaries. I said yes when I wanted to say no. I stayed quiet when I should have spoken up.

And slowly, without even realising it, I started accepting things that didn’t align with who I truly was.

I remember thinking, Maybe this is just how life is.

That thought scared me more than anything.

Because deep down, I knew there had to be more.

But I didn’t know how to access it.

The Moment I Decided “No More”

There wasn’t one dramatic event that changed everything overnight.

It was more like a quiet realisation that kept getting louder.

A feeling I could no longer ignore.

I reached a point where I looked at my life and thought:
If nothing changes, this will be my future.

And something inside me refused to accept that.

That’s when I made a decision. Not a loud, confident one, but a deeply personal one:

I’m going to change my life.

I didn’t know how.
I didn’t have a clear plan.

But I knew I couldn’t stay the same.

Starting Small When Everything Felt Overwhelming

At the beginning, I thought I needed a complete transformation.

A new life. A new version of myself.

But I quickly realised something important:
Big change felt overwhelming.

So I started small.

Really small.

I began committing to short challenges — seven days, sometimes thirty.

Sometimes it was doing something positive.
Sometimes it was stopping something that didn’t serve me.

There was nothing glamorous about it.

Some days felt uncomfortable.
Some days I didn’t want to do it at all.

But I kept going.

Not perfectly.
Just consistently enough.

Discovering a Different Way to Live

As I stayed committed to these small changes, something unexpected started to happen.

I began to notice myself.

My thoughts.
My reactions.
My patterns.

Things I had never questioned before suddenly became visible.

I realised how often I doubted myself.
How easily I gave my power away.
How much I shaped myself to fit what was around me.

And for the first time, I understood something deeply:

My life wasn’t happening to me.

It was being shaped by the patterns I was repeating every day.

Rewiring From the Inside Out

This realisation changed everything.

Because if my patterns created my life…
then changing those patterns could change my life too.

I started exploring different practices — yoga, meditation, breathwork.

I invested time in understanding the subconscious mind.
I learned about awareness, habits, and emotional patterns.

I didn’t approach it as a quick fix.

I treated it like learning a new way of being.

And slowly, I started creating new pathways.

Not overnight.
Not all at once.

But little by little.

The Shift That Changed Everything

The biggest shift didn’t come from something external.

It came from within.

I stopped waiting for life to change.

And started changing how I showed up in life.

I began setting boundaries.
Speaking more honestly.
Choosing differently — even when it felt uncomfortable.

At first, it felt unnatural.

But over time, those small changes started compounding.

My environment didn’t suddenly transform.

But my relationship with it did.

And that changed everything.

I found the courage to change my career to become a graphic designer.

I found the love of my life and the partner that I deserve and he deserves me.

Few years later I travelled to India to complete my yoga, meditation and breathwork qualifications, alongside my new job as a designer.

Seeing Possibilities That Were Always There

As I continued this journey, something else began to happen.

Opportunities started appearing.
New connections came into my life.
Experiences I never imagined became possible.

For a long time, I thought these things were out there, waiting to happen.

But now I see it differently.

They were always there.

I just couldn’t see them before.

Because I was operating from a version of myself that wasn’t aligned with them.

When I changed internally, my perspective shifted.

And suddenly, life felt bigger.

More open.
More full of possibility.

What I Learned About Real Change

If there’s one thing this journey has taught me, it’s this:

Real change doesn’t come from one big decision.

It comes from small, consistent choices.

The kind that feel insignificant in the moment.

The kind that no one else sees.

But over time, those small changes shape how you think, how you act, and ultimately, how you live.

They build on each other.

Quietly.
Powerfully.

Until one day, you look back and realise your life has taken a completely different direction.

If You Feel Stuck Right Now

I know what it feels like to believe your life isn’t going to change.

To feel like you’re doing your best, but something still isn’t working.

To wonder if this is just how things are.

But it doesn’t have to stay that way.

You don’t need to figure everything out today.

You don’t need a perfect plan.

You just need to start.

Small.

One decision.
One habit.
One shift in how you show up.

And then another.

And another.

Because those small steps?

They’re not small at all.

They’re the beginning of everything.

A Final Note

On my journey, I learnt and used many tools, practices and techniques to support my growth. But, I didn’t have the guidance I wish I had, instead I kept searching for answers in books, podcasts, coaching sessions and more…

Over time, I realised how powerful it is to have guidance — something that helps you stay consistent, reflect honestly, and keep moving forward without overthinking what to do next. But unfortunately, not everyone has the time, money or know where to search for those answers, I know, I didn’t have any of those at the start.

That’s why I created a journal designed for powerful personal transformation.

It’s a guided 52-week journey built around small, consistent changes that compound over time. It’s the Physical Growth Journal — a companion, guiding you through 52 weeks, as well as allowing you the space to write, create and reflect.

I’ll be launching it on Kickstarter in April, with the intention of bringing it to more people. The project relies on support at the pre-order stage to bring it to life to help millions of people worldwide.

If this resonates with you and you feel called to be part of it, I’ve called this initiative ‘Nano Change’. You can join the waitlist and find out more at www.nanochange.co and follow the journey as it unfolds.
